Coach forces team into cemetary pep talk

Uh what the fuck?

The sources said Marsh, also an English teacher at the high school, ordered the team bus to pull over near the cemetery. He then asked the roughly two dozen players to get out and lay on the graves. The players rested there for several minutes while Marsh preached about the importance of playing hard, and how those buried underneath them would cherish the opportunity to trade places with the players and fight to win.
Marsh then urged the Mustangs to arise from the dead and bring their season back to life.

Maybe they should have eaten or dry humped the dead? Wow - what a freak.

Pretty cool Universal stuff. A little pricey but cool.

Did you hear the one about Nick Cage, the naked dude & the Fudgesicle?

Uh, yeah.

"It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed," he told reporters on Wednesday. I know it sounds funny ... but it was horrifying.

A Fudgesicle is a frozen, ice cream-like snack."

Thanks for the clarification, Yahoo. Story in the link.

The Spectre coming to Fox?

As a long time comics fan and a huge fan of DC and their Golden Age characters, this has me excited.

Fox is developing a drama based on The Spectre, DC Comics’ hooded Spirit of Vengeance, Deadline reports.

Brandon Camp, creator of the short-lived sci-fi drama John Doe, will write the adaptation, which centers on an ex-cop serving time in limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead. Warner Bros. Television and Gerber Pictures will produce The Spectre, which has received a script commitment from Fox, with Camp and Bill Gerber (Gran Torino) serving as executive producers.

Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer, apparently brought the property to Camp’s attention.

Created by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily, The Spectre debuted in 1940 when hard-boiled cop Jim Corrigan was murdered and his spirit refused entry into the afterlife, instead being sent back to Earth to battle evil. The character became a regular fixture of the DC Universe over the next seven decades, occasionally fading away, or being seemingly destroyed, only to be resurrected again and again.

Good work, Geoff!!! Check out the link for all the details.

The Walking Dead Season 2 poster

Spinoff has the Season 2 poster up along with a nice summary of this season's plot.

TV Guide has premiered the poster for Season 2 of AMC’s The Walking Dead, featuring a lone Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) running toward Hershel’s farm, the central setting for much of the 13-episode story arc.

The farm’s inhabitants will include Scott Wilson (CSI, Justified) as Hershel Greene, the veterinarian who gives medical attention and shelter to the survivors, Lauren Cohan (Supernatural) as his daughter Maggie, and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Deadwood, The Mentalist) as racist farmhand Otis.

Remember, freaks, The Walking Dead is back on October 16th at 9 p.m. EST with a 90 minute ep.

Hot Dog Man statue mystery

Good times.

"...a concerned citizen called police there last week to report a man in a hot dog costume near a bus stop where children congregate. When officers arrived, they found the man was actually a 6-foot-tall statue, with spindly legs and a pair of high-top sneakers. Its hands are missing, and a U.S. flag is draped across its back."

Story in the link. Thanks to my wife for the link :)

Depp as Barnabas

OK, it’s probably a little too early to make a judgment, but right now I think the look is a little too Burton cartoonish for me… maybe throw in a twist of Michael Jackson too?

Thanks to my buds Tom & Tim for links to the pictures.

Creature has one of the worst openings ever

I covered this one on the last Fright Flicks segment, so I thought I'd update ya on the box office for Creature.

Uh....... it sucked?

The film grossed only $331,000 opening up in 1,507 U.S. theaters this weekend, making it the worst premiere ever for a film opening in 1,500 locations or more, according to

Now, it was obviously a very limited release, but according to the box office take, it made something like $220.00 per theater. Yikes. It will probably do ok on DVD, and I still want to check it out.

This is a kick-ass site full of really cool & amazing pictures of abandoned buildings, factories, houses and more all over the country.

There are so many really cool pics that are creepy and fascinating. Growing up in the northeastern coal region section of PA, I grew up around a lot these types of places and they still hold a fascination for me. Among the pictures are locations from where I grew up including Centralia, the tunnel in Thorpe, the abandoned factory, Carbon County prison, and more. There's a creep factor, but also a sadness in a lot of these places.

Check ‘em all out, and if you have any cool pics, be sure to contribute to the project. Thanks to my wife for the head's up.

The Invisibile Man still a go at Universal?

Here’s some interesting news courtesy of Latino Review – check this out, monster kids:

"The Invisible Man," which has been a pet project for David S. Goyer for several years. He wants to make a sequel of sorts to the original film, and also one that exploits H.G. Wells' beautiful open ending where it's revealed that he preserved all of his scientific secrets in a series of notebooks. It would take place mere months after the book/original film, and follow the nephew of the Invisible Man, who cracks the formula and takes on his uncle's see-through power. Scotland Yard captures him, and demands he assist them as a spy, or risk medical dissection. Goyer even hinted it may have steampunk elements.

It sounds as if his original idea is still on, aided considerably by being able to piggyback on Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes"success. "It’s a period film but it’s period like Downey’s ’Sherlock Holmes,’” Goyer told Hero Complex. “It’s period but it’s a reinvention of the character in the sort of way that Stephen Sommers exploded ‘The Mummy’ into a much bigger kind of mythology. That’s kind of what we’ve done with ‘The Invisible Man.’”

Despite being burned on "The Wolfman," Universal is still interested (undoubtedly because they would like their own Sherlock Holmes) and is moving forward with the remake. Goyer insists it's still alive, though proceeding slowly, and that it largely depends on attracting a marketable male lead. "We did some pre-vis tests and things like that that they were very happy with. Now we’re going through the casting process. if they get the right lead, they’ll make it."

So, everyone has an opinion - lemme know what ya think?

What up freaks! Check out the cover for the DVD release of Satan Hates You. Will it be cool, will it suck? Who the hell knows, but I dug the trailer so I will definitely check out the flick when the DVD is released on October 18th.

From the official press release:

Dubbed "a clever collision of flamboyant gore and social commentary" by Variety, the over-the-top shocker follows Marc (Don Wood), a homicidal maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul, and Wendy (Christine Spencer), a young girl who lives life fast and hard without a second's thought to the consequences. Their separate paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road to salvation or the highway to hell?
