Lionsgate micro-budget initiative

This definitely sounds like a move that could give us some well done and good quality projects. Perhaps a much-needed shot in the arm to the genre from fresh blood who have great and creative ideas, but not the financial backing.

Lionsgate announced that is starting "a micro-budget production initiative, which is focused exclusively on producing films with budgets of under $2 million." They're going to start with three flicks, including one from Greg Mclean ("Wolf Creek" and "Rogue"). They hope to produce up to 10 films per year.

Scream out to DC for the head's up. Check out the link for more details.
