Artist Rob Kelly - Custom Universal Monsters Movie Posters - www.namtab.com

I have long admired this artist's reinterpretations of the Universal gang, and his version of their movie posters. I even shared them back here, and here, but never knew his name and sadly was unable to give credit.

I love the clean design and wonderful images and colors this artist uses in his works. Be sure to check out the rest in the link to his site where he has done kick-ass posters of all our favorites, and then some, including MGM's Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, as well as later films such as This Island Earth, The Mole People and It Came From Outer Space.

Definitely be sure to check out the Monster PSAs - these posters are really funny and clever.

Rock on Rob!

Happy Birthday Carroll Borland

Happy birthday to actress Carroll Borland (1914-1994).

She will forever be remembered in horror cinema as Luna in the Lugosi classic chiller Mark of the Vampire (1935).

Rob Zombie's "CSI:Miami" Airs March 1st at 10:00 p.m.

Well, we've all been screaming for him to branch out a bit and do something besides white trash slasher flicks right?

Yeah so he's directed this episode of CSI:Miami and talks about it here.

It's been described as "darker, spookier, scarier, and more dangerous with a lot more edge." Zombie's guest stars will include Malcolm McDowell, Michael Madsen, Billy Gibbons, and.........

shockingly, Sheri Zombie. Amazing, huh? Yeah, I can't believe it either.

"In the opening scene, it'll seem obvious [that I was the director]. But I wasn't trying to disrespect the show by disregarding anything they've done. I wasn't trying to turn it into something different."

I wonder how many people will tune into this? I've never seen an episode, but have to admit I am curious to tune in and check it out. Given his wildly uneven past directoral efforts, I wonder how this episode will be. It can't be any worse than Halloween II.....

At least, I hope it's not.

What about you?

"Werewolf Women of the SS" - Rob Zombie/Hellbilly Deluxe 2

"They are the black widows, baby
Off the street of Berlin
Pure wolf is the mission
She-Devils of sin
They're in control now
Strasser you are through
You are gonna worship
Everything that they do

Werewolf women of the SS

Howl baby howl
Howl baby howl

Welcome to number 13
This is where it begins
Up ahead you will suffer
Stripping off you skin
Here come the ladies
Super women of death
Gretchen and little Eva
Pure blood on their breath

Werewolf women of the SS

Howl baby howl
Howl baby howl

Werewolf women of the SS

Howl baby howl
Howl baby howl
Howl baby howl
Howl baby howl"

Bela and Boris

I always liked this promo photo of two of the biggest horror icons in the history of cinema.

Movie Quote of the Day #6

Pimp: "Your bread, man, all of it! Or are we gonna have to become anti-social and kick your ass?"

Mamuwalde: "I'm sorry, I don't have any 'bread' on me, and as for 'kicking my ass' I'd strongly suggest you give it careful consideration before trying!"

- Classic exchange in Scream Blacula Scream (1973)
