Halloween Horror Nights - Rob Zombie Film Competition

Are you a horror filmmaker? Looking for a shot at the big time? Are you a big fan of Zombie's and want to get the chance to have him judge your latest project? Or think he's is a hack and you want to show him how horror films are done? Well, boils and ghouls -here's your chance thanks to Universal Studios Hollywood and Mr. Zombie.

These two are teaming up to bring us the "Halloween Horror Nights - Rob Zombie Film Competition." The film entries will be judged by Zombie, some of the Universal team and horror industry pros, and the judging criteria includes storytelling skill, originality and the degree of a "good scare." The films should be anywhere from a minute and a half to three minutes and two copies should be submitted on DVD. Contest runs from July 7th through August 14th. They will then select the top 10 flicks, which will be posted online, and public voting will go from September 3rd through September 17th. The winner will be announced on September 17th.

Prizes include a premiere on Chiller TV, a posting on, $1,000 in cash and a trip for two to the opening night of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, as well as a presentation ceremony.

Additional information on the contest, including a complete list of rules and regulations, is available online at Halloween Horror Nights.

Thanks to STYD for the head's up on this story.
