Another head's up that TCM is showing the silent 1926 film The Magician tonight at midnight EST.


  1. That sounds too cool. I don't suppose TCM over here might show it.

  2. Got this scheduled on the DVR. Never seen this one, so I am really looking forward to it. Time like this I miss my grandma who used to play piano in her dads movie theater...I would love to ask her if she ever played this one :)


  3. Watching it now. A real joy to watch - exquisite quality, although TCM's page doesn't say anything about restoration. Brand new score but in the style of the silent era, with occasional borrowings from classical music lexicon (like the commonly quoted Lizst B-minor).
