Happy Birthday John Carradine

Happy birthday to actor John Carradine (1906-1988)!

Mr. Carradine appeared in so many great genre films including The Invisible Man (1933), The Black Cat (1934), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Revenge of the Zombies (1943), Voodoo Man (1944), The Invisible Man’s Revenge (1944), The Mummy’s Ghost (1944), Return of the Ape Man (1944), Dr. Terror’s Gallery of Horrors (1967), The Astro-Zombies (1968), Blood of Dracula’s Castle (1969) and one of my favorites, The Howling (1981).

Of course, he was Universal's choice to portray Count Dracula in both House of Frankenstein (1944) and House of Dracula (1945), and in my opinion, he did a terrific, very underrated job in that role. Definitely different than Lugosi (or Chaney for that matter), but nontheless a solid portrayal.

He also played the Count once again in the infamous flick Billy the Kid Versus Dracula (1966).

Happy birthday to one of the greats!
