Brides of Dracula/Screening - Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH

If anyone is in the New England area, you might want to check out this cool upcoming 35mm screening of Hammer's Brides of Dracula at the Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH on Saturday, October 24th at 7 p.m.

Here's some info from the promoter:

Once again we'll have characters from our horror host show SATURDAY FRIGHT SPECIAL introducing the film live on stage, vintage Hammer trailers, live Brides of Dracula in the theater, prize giveaways (including an original sketch by comic artist S.R. Bissette, a pile of Anchor Bay Blu-ray discs, T-shirts and more), and other surprises. Free glow-in-the-dark vampire fangs for the first 50 patrons through the door! All this in a beautifully restored historic movie palace! This will be our first Saturday night event, and we hope that the more convenient time will allow more folks from out of the area to attend.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the box office or online in the link.

  1. For anyone coming to Keene for the BRIDES screening, there are also several other events to feast upon....comic artists S.R. Bissette (SWAMP THING, TABOO, TYRANT) and Denis St. John (MONSTERS & GIRLS) will be doing a book signing at Comic Boom in Keene (just up the streeet and around the corner from the Colonial Theatre) on the late morning/afternoon of the 24th, signing copies of THE VERMONT MONSTER GUIDE (Bissette) and MONSTERS & GIRLS.

Also, the Keene State College Film Society will be running the freaky french classic DIABOLIQUE in 35mm that weekend, including a 2PM matinee Sat/Sun.

Double also, nearby Brattleboro, VT is hosting the annual Vermont Samurai-Kaiju Festival, which will include talks, screenings, and video game competitions.

A pretty happenin' weekend for monster/horror fans in our little neck of the woods!

  2. For anyone coming in for the event (or thinking about doing so), comics legend S.R. Bissette, along with Denis St. John and Nick Patten, will be holding a signing at Comic Boom in Keene from 3-5PM on the day of the BRIDES screening.
